StanChart gets new HR chief

Standard Chartered Bangladesh has recently announced appointment of Khairun Nahar Haque Urmee as country head of human resources. She was previously senior human resources business partner at the bank’s Malaysian wing, the bank said in a statement.
Urmee joined the Bank as a Management Trainee in 1998 in Bangladesh, and since then has been in various roles that span both businesses and functions. Starting her career in business, she has taken on roles in customer service, product development, marketing and led the service quality function.
She received two global awards for delivering solutions to enhance customer experience. She transitioned to the Human Resource function setting up the Bank’s Learning Academy, which played a key role in nurturing and strengthening Bank’s skills-base and talent development.
Urmee holds a Master of Development Studies degree from BRAC University and Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Bangladesh’s premier business school, the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. She has received various oversees accreditations and certifications.
