A youth was sentenced to six-month imprisonment for staliking a school girl at Bashail village under Razihar union of Agoiljhara in the district on Wednesday.
Afzal Hossain, officer in charge of Agoiljhara police station, acknowledging the fact said a youth of the village named as Sohag Bala, 20, son of Monindra Bala, regularly disturbed a girl , a student of class eight, on way to her school and private tution in Bashail village.
Mother of the victim alleged before the upazila nirbahi officer Bipul Chandra Das about that and he instructed the law enforcers to take action.
Sub Inspector Nasiruddin of the local police station, caught the accused red handed on Wednesday morning and produced him before the mobile court at noon.
Then the UNO leading a mobile court taking statements of the victim and witnesses, founding the accused as guilty, sentenced him to six-month imprisonment.
The sentenced accused sent to Barishal central jail at afternoon, police sources added.
