The newly appointed Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) Chairman Arastoo Khan assured the officials and employees of the bank that they can perform their duties more smoothly than before.
He wants political neutrality to prevail in the workplace and says staff members should not fear for their jobs.
‘Islami Bank will take action against staff who had been prioritising their political aspirations over their office responsibilities,’ said Arastoo Khan, the new chairman of the country’s most profitable private bank.
Former secretary Arastoo was appointed as the new chairman of Islami Bank this week following a shake up of the management team.
“One may vote for Awami league or BNP, but their political preferences should not be reflected in their work at this bank,” the chairman told reporters after a meeting with Finance Minister AMA Muhith at his secretariat office on Thursday.
“We do not go for ‘witch hunting’ in Islami Bank,” he added. “I will make nobody lose their job from Islami Bank due to the recent changes in management.”
