St Joseph School runners-up of Quanta ’16

Quanta is one of the most prestigious science competitions in the world which allows students to showcase their brilliance in mathematics, science, debate and electronics, hosted by the largest school in the world, City Montessori School in Lucknow, India, held from November 17-20.
Schools from more than 40 countries participated in this competition including multiple national teams from Brazil, Germany, Russia, Africa, and Lebanon along with the best teams from all parts of India.
There were mathematics quiz, science quiz, obstacle robot race, debate, mental ability and aqua challenge over the 4-day competition.
Sadid Bin Hasan and Irtiza Iram from Saint Joseph School have become global runners up in mathematics quiz. This is the first time Bangladesh has achieved this honor, Bangladesh came second only to German national team. With sheer determination they have crossed 3 stages-preliminary written, first open round, and semifinals before finally clinching the title.
Per the vision of the co-founder of City Montessori School, Mr. Jagdish Gandhi said, ‘we came to know that, how the world can be united as one by working as citizens of the world and not as different nations. Through participation with a cooperative and competitive mind, we could learn how critical and large problems can be solved very easily with cooperation from every team member including the teachers.’
