The SSC and its equivalent examinations, scheduled for March 8 and 10, have been postponed on Saturday as the BNP-led 20-party alliance announced another 72-hour spell of nationwide hartal. Education Ministry deputy chief information officer Subodh Chandra Dhali told UNB that the new dates for the postponed examinations will be announced later. Meanwhile, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid visited the Mohammadpur Government High School centre today. Emerging from the centre, Nahid told reporters that the SSC exams will end by March and the results would be published within 60 days of completion of the written exams. “The HSC and its equivalent examinations will begin on April 1 as per the previous schedule,” the minister said. The BNP-led 20-party alliance on Saturday announced another 72-hour spell of nationwide hartal from 6am on Sunday alongside its ongoing countrywide indefinite transport blockade to push for its various demands, including a fresh national election under a non-party administration. The SSC and its equivalent examinations began across the country on February 6 but most of the exams were either rescheduled or postponed due to hartal.
