The education ministry’s failure in stopping SSC question leaks has once again become evident.
Questions of English paper II surfaced on Facebook, shortly after 9:20am Wednesday.
bdnews24.com immediately emailed the screenshots to the Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
The issue will be checked, Dhaka Board Exam Controller Tapan Kumar Sarkar said.
After the three-hour test ended at 1pm, this correspondent found that the leaks matched questions in the actual exam. This year’s Secondary School Certificate or SSC exams started on Feb 1.
Following media reports that the questions of Bangla papers I and II leaked, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid declared a Tk 500,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of offenders.
He formed a committee to decide on the next course of action against these alleged leaks.
However, questions of English paper I leaked and soon afterwards, advertisements for leaked questions of paper II popped up on the social media. A Facebook user, named Md Imaj Uddin Riad, shared an image of leaked questions on the social network at 9:20am Wednesday.
Another user, Ridoy Khan, shared two images at 9:24am. All the images contained questions that appeared in the English paper II test. Around 9:30am, similar images appeared in another social media group.
Ami R Tumi, Rezaul Karim, Rafsan Rony and ShopnoHin Balok are among the Facebook users who shared the images of leaked questions. The students were already inside their exam hall when the questions leaked on Facebook. “That means they did not see the leaked questions,” Tapan said.
“I’ve forwarded the data to BRTC and the cybercrime unit of the intelligence agency. They will surely find out the perpetrators.”
