Most of the schools in Kishoreganj town and others areas are charging extra fee from the secondary school certificate (SSC) examination candidates for filling up form defying Education Board’s instruction and it has created serious hardship to the guardians.
The Education Board fixed maximum Tk 1400/– for filling up forms but many school are charging extra fees ranging from Tk 5000 to Tk 7000 for the purpose. Apart from the Board fees, the school managing committee are charging extra in the name of special coaching fees, model test fees, session charge and other fees from the SSC candidates.
School that are charging extra fees from the SSC examinees include SV Govt Girls School, Azimuddin High School, Hasmatuddin School Al-Hajj Shamsuddin High School, Zila Shorani Girls School, Atharjan High School, Abdul Majid High School, and Maria School in Kishoreganj Sadar.
Guardians of SSC Candidates told the New Nation on Saturday that the authorities of the school are charging extra fees in the name of form fill-up defying the boards order.
Meanwhile, the apex court on last week asked the education boards to stop charging extra fees from the SSC examinees in the name of form fill-up.
