Noted Indian singer Srikanto Acharya performed in a gala event in the city’s Gulshan area recently.
He visited Dhaka on Pahela Falgun, first day of the month of Spring of Bengali calendar, and performed in a musical night at annual dinner of Gulshan Youth Club in the city.
The programme was presided over by President of the Gulshan Youth Club (GYC) Rafez Alam Chowdhury. Executive Committee members, general members and also their family members attended the function.
World-renowned mime actor Partho Pratim Majumder and eminent lyricist, film director and producer Gazi Mazharul Anwar received honour from the GYC as icon of the country and composing ‘theme song’ of the Club respectively.
In the programme, Srikanto Acharya rendered some of his popular numbers including Tagore and modern songs in the programme.
