Sri Lanka reached the final round of the ICC T20 World Cup with style after defeating Netherlands by eight wickets in their last Group-A qualifiers at Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates on Friday.
Sri Lanka bagged six points from three matches, while Netherlands remained with naught from as many matches.
Namibia are the other team from Group-A which qualify for the final round claiming four points from three outings.
Chasing Netherland’s paltry total of 44 off 10 overs, Sri Lanka sailed home making 45 for the loss of two wickets when they had 77 balls to spare.
Opener Kusal Perera remained unbeaten with 33. He hit six fours in his 24-ball innings.
Brendon Glover and Paul van Meekeren took one wicket each for 12 and 20 runs respectively.
Earlier, Colin Ackermann was the only batter of Netherlands who could reach the double digit figures scoring 11 runs.
Lahiru Kumara and Wanindu Hasaranga grabbed three wickets each instead of seven and nine runs respectively.  
Maheesh Theekshana bagged two wickets in the space of three runs.
Besides, Dushmantha Chameera took one wicket for 13 runs.
Lahiru Kumara of Sri Lanka was adjudged the Man of the Match.
