ICC World Cup: Sri Lanka make 338/6 again Windies

Sri Lanka made 338 for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs against West Indies in their match of the ICC World Cup Cricket at Chester-le-Street in England on Monday.
Sri Lanka had a good start as openers Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Perera put on together 93 runs in the opening stand before Karunaratne was caught behind by wicketkeeper Shai Hope off Jason Holder.
Karunaratne made 32 from 48 balls hitting four fours. After Karunaratne’s dismissal, Kusal Perera was run out by a joint-effort of Sheldon Cottrell and Carlos Brathwaite when Sri Lanka’s score was 104 for the loss of two wickets.
Perera notched up a marvelous 64. His 51-ball innings saw eight shots across the ropes. It was Perera’s 14th ODI half-century.
After Perera’s departure, Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis contributed together 85 runs for the third wicket partnership before Kusal Mendis was caught & bowled by Fabian Allen when Sri Lanka’s total was 189 for the loss of three wickets.
Kusal Mendis hit 39 from 41 balls including four fours.
Avishka Fernando hit a sparkle 104. His 103-ball innings saw nine fours and two sixes.
Thirimanne remained unbeaten with 45. His 33-ball knock had four fours.
Jason Holder bagged a couple of wickets at the cost of 59 runs.
Besides, Allen, Thomas and Cottrell got one wicket each for 44, 58 and 69 runs respectively.
