All of the cricketers and support staff of Sri Lanka team came back negative in the first of two Covid-19 tests, said a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official.
The team who are on three-day room quarantine will have another test today and subject to the result of the test, they will start practice for the three-match ODI series against hosts Bangladesh.
“The players and support staff of the Lankan team gave their sample on Sunday and all came back negative on Monday,” BCB chief physician Dr. Debashish Chowdhury said.
“They will go through another Covid-19 test tomorrow and if all returns are negative they can start practice from May 19,” he added.
While Bangladesh won’t take part in the corona test after that, the Sri Lanka team will go through another test before leaving this country.
Sri Lanka however arrived in Dhaka with a corona negative certificate.
