A local Sramik League leader, his wife and two daughters have been killed in Bhaluka. Police recovered the bodies of Shafiqul Islam Bachchu, general secretary of Habirbari union unit of Sramik League, and his wife and two daughters, from their house at Lobonkuta village on Tuesday morning. Officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Bhaluka Police Station Abdul Quader Miah said they found the bodies of Bachchu and his wife lying in a pool of blood beneath their bed while the mouths of their two daughters — one aged around 5 and the other 2 — tied with clothes. Police suspected that the couple was hacked to death and their children were strangled sometime on Monday night. — Mymensingh, Dec 16 (UNB)
