Md. Siddiqullah, former News Editor of the then Bangladesh Observer died on Thursday morning due to old-age complications at his residence at 115/B, Khilgaon Chowdhurypara
near Matir Masjid in Dhaka. He was 87.
He left behind his wife, four daughters, only son settled in USA, many grandsons, granddaughters and a hosts of relatives to mourn his death.
Late Siddiqullah served in the Bangladesh Observer since 1954 and worked in different capacities for the last 56 years and also served as a News Editor in the Morning News (during Pakistan regime for sometimes.)
He was a generous and pious man throughout his life.
His only son and one daughter along with their families have been staying in US as citizens.
His eldest son-in-law Prof Md. Shahjahan Mazumder is the News Editor of The New Nation. Dr. Ahsanul Habib is in Square Hospital; Dr. Nazmul Huda FCPS, in Govt. job and Dr Prof Mohammad Ali (PhD) staying in US with his family.
His first Namaj-e-Janaja was held at the Jatiya Press Club after Zohr prayer and second Namaj-e-Janaja was held at the Chowdhurypara Matir Masjid after Asr prayer.
Later, he was laid to rest at city’s Banani graveyard the same day.
