A Chittagong court on Tuesday again granted two-day remand to arms supplier Bhola, arrested in connection with the murder of Superintendent of Police (SP) Babul Akter’s wife Mahmuda Khanom Mitu.
The court of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Salem Mohammad Noman placed him on two-day remand after police prayed for a five-day remand in an arms case of Bakalia thana, court sources said.
Earlier, police on July 10 last took Ehatashamul Hoque Bhola three-day remand as suspected murderer and arms supplier.
Police arrested Bhola from city’s Rajakhali area of Bakalia thana on June 27 in connection with the murder of Mahmuda Khanom Mitu.
According to confession, Detective Branch of Police recovered a pistol and bullets that were used for killing Mitu from Bakalia area and an arms case was filed with Bakalia thana in this connection.Mahmuda Khanom Mitu was killed in an attack near GEC intersection on June 5.She was stabbed and shot in the head by three men when she was taking her six-year-old son for availing the school bus within the vicinity of her residence.
