Salahuddin re-elected President of SAFF

Kazi Md Salahuddin has been unopposed re-elected President of South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). The election was held at the Marble Room of the Ruposhi Bangla Hotel on Wednesday. The SAFF Congress was held at the same venue on the same day.
Meanwhile, Dorji Upen Tsechup, President of Bhutan Football Federation, W Rinjit Rodrigo, President of Football Federation of Sri Lanka, Sayeed Khadim Ali Shah, Vice-President of Pakistan Football Federation have been jointly elected Vice-Presidents of SAFF.
Dorji Upen Tsechup, W Ranjit Rodrigo, Sayed Khadim Ali Shah, Abdul Muhsin Hameed, Vice-President of Football Association of Maldives took part in the election for the posts of Vice-Presidents of SAFF.

Bangladesh eve team play 2nd ODI today

Bangladesh eve team face their Pakistani counterpart in the second and last ODI of the two-match ODI series schedule to be held today at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.
The match kicks off at 9 am (BST).
Bangladesh eve team already took 1-0 lead in the series beating Pakistan eve team by 43 runs in the first ODI held on Tuesday at the same venue.

Brazil celebrates 100-day mark to World Cup

Brazil is commemorating the 100-day mark to the World Cup by lighting up tourist attractions with the green and yellow colors of the national flag.
Some monuments, bridges, theaters and World Cup stadiums were lit up across the country Tuesday to celebrate the milestone.
Among the stadiums illuminated with the national colors were the Mineirao in Belo Horizonte and the Maracana, which will host the final of football’s showcase event in Rio de Janeiro on July 13.
The World Cup begins on June 12 with Brazil playing Croatia in Sao Paulo.
With the tournament approaching fast, local organizers continue to struggle to get venues and infrastructure work completed. Four of the 12 stadiums aren’t finalized, and two may be ready less than a month before the opener.

Bengoechea named new Peru coach

Pablo Bengoechea was named Peru national coach on Tuesday on a short-term contract after the experienced Argentinian Marcelo Bielsa declined the Peruvian Football Federation’s offer.
The 49-year-old Uruguayan,- a stylish midfielder capped 43 times who scored in both their Copa America wins in 1987 and 1995, signed a contract that runs until December but is likely to be extended to the Copa America in Chile next year.
Bengoechea, who played most of his club football in South America apart from a five-year stint in Spain with Sevilla, knows the Peru set-up well as he was assistant coach to compatriot Sergio Markarian during the unsuccessful qualifying campaign for this year’s World Cup finals.
