Dr Caroline Brassard, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore met Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Wednesday at the latter’s office of the university.
DU Prof Dr Anwarul Islam of the Department of Zoology was present on the occasion.
During the meeting, they discussed various aspects of public policy, governance, disaster management and vulnerability studies.
They stressed on practical application of conceptual knowledge and theories to mitigate disasters in Asian countries, particularly Bangladesh.
The visiting Singapore Professor expressed keen interest to work together through joint education and research programmes with Dhaka University.
