Businesspersons should pay Value Added Tax (VAT) spontaneously to strengthen the national economy for attaining financial self-reliance to further accelerate development on the way to build a developed Bangladesh.
The opinion came on Monday at a views-exchange meeting on ‘Resolving problems being faced by businesspersons in online VAT payment’ organised by Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) at its auditorium in the city.
Rangpur Divisional Commissioner of Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate Shawkat Ali Sadi attended the event as the chief guest with RCCI President Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu in the chair.
Additional Commissioner of Divisional Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate Arun Kumar Biswas and its Assistance Commissioner Md. Sajjad Hossain addressed the meeting as special guests.
Executives of RCCI, its Directors, leaders of different trade organisations from across the district participated in the event arranged abiding by the health directives in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
