Information Minister Hasanul Haq on Friday said people’s spontaneous participation in the Bangla Nabobarsha celebration is nothing but the demonstration of strength of the Bangalee nation.
“Practicing of own culture link people with their roots. It also provides us courage and energy to proceed ahead further,” he said while celebrating the ‘Pahela Baishakh’ with different media houses in the capital on Friday.
The information minister praised the role of mass media as it consistently tries to reach messages at the doorsteps of people.
The minister celebrated the 18th founding anniversary of the private Ekushey Television at its office by cutting a cake.
Later, he joined the nabobarsha festival of Dhaka Reporters Unity at Segunbagicha here on Friday morning.
Inu also joined the nabobarsha festival of the Jatiya Press Club (JPC).
JPC president Shafiqur Rahman, Samakal editor Golam Sarwar, JPC general secretary Farida Yasmin and noted journalists, among others, were present.
