A special train named DEMU train recently imported from Chittagong has been introduced in Chittagong University service from Thursday .
Prime Minister has presented this special Demu train specifically for Chittagong University teachers, officials . Pro-Vice chancellor of CU Dr. Iftikharuddin Chowdhury formally inaugurated the train on Thursday at CU station.
Railway sources said this train will run four times a day from Chittagong solasahar station to CU station.
The first train will leave Solasahar station at 8.50 am and the second one at 1.20 pm respectively. On the other hand the train will leave CU campus at 10.30 am and 3 pm respectively. Vice chancellor of the university Prof.Dr Anowarul Azim Arif told that following the prayer to the Prime Minister, govt has allocated this specialized train for the teachers, officials of the university. Mentionable that for the students Shuttle trains are also plyin g daily from Chittagong old railaway station to CU campus regularly.
