Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh on Friday formed a special taskforce for smooth operation of health screening of all in-bound passengers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka.
Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan, who is also the Director of HSIA, has been made the chief of the taskforce.
The taskforce will oversee the health screening activities at the airport round the clock.
“Each taskforce consists of 20 Ansar members, five supervisors and two inspectors,” said Touhid.
Besides, the Health Ministry has increased the number of health staff to 30 in each shift for screening passengers at the HSIA.
Prior to this, six health staff officials only in each shift are working at the airport for screening inbound passengers.
“Health officials are expanding their checks of international travelers
at Dhaka Airport for coronavirus,” said Touhid, adding that they are keeping a very close eye on the containment of coronavirus as three cases have already been reported in the country.
