A total of 60 Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB members, including Director General (DG) Major General Md Shafeenul Islam, will be accorded with special awards this year in recognition of their bravery in line of duty.
These officials will be awarded the Border Guard Bangladesh Medal (BGBM) and the President Border Guard
Medal (PBGM) as well as monetary rewards on monthly installments as per their contributions to service, said a circular issued by Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday
According to the circular, 10 BGB officials will receive the BGBM, 20 officials will receive the PBGM, 10 will receive the BGB (Service) Medal and 20 others will get the PBG (Service) Medal.
The BGBM holders will get Tk one lakh in cash and extra Tk 1,500 with monthly salary while PBGM and BGB (service) achievers to get Tk 75,000 in cash and extra Tk 1,000 with monthly salary.
Also the PBGM (Service) holders will get Tk 50,000 in cash and extra Tk 1,000 with monthly salary.
