A fire broke out at a spinning mill in Shofipur area in Kaliakair upazila on Saturday night.
However, no one was injured in the incident. Apurba Bol, station officer of Kaliakair Fire Station said, the fire broke out at Jamuna Spinning Mill of the area around 7:30pm. Four fire fighters unit from Kaliakair and Gazipur rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control with the help of the factory workers after one hour’s frantic efforts. The fire might have originated from electric short-circuit, added Apurba Bol.
The extent of losses due to the fire could not be ascertained immediately.
