The trial in the freedom fighter Faruk Ahmed murder case will now be held at the speedy trial tribunal as police wants a quick disposal of it.
Sources at the Police Super’s office said SP Mahbub Alam sent a letter to the district magistrate on August 8 to take steps to send the Faruk murder case to the speedy trial tribunal.
Talking to reporters on Friday, deputy commissioner of the district Mahbub Hossain said he received the letter sent by the police super in this regard and initiated a process to send a proposal to the Home Ministry for its permission
Meanwhile, Tangail additional district and session’s judge on August 8 fixed August 24 for the next hearing in the case.
