Banglalink has paired with Opera Software to provide a co-branded mobile web browser to its subscribers.
The Opera Mini browser, designed especially for Banglalink’s 29 million users, is ideally suited for low-cost mobile phones, the operator said in a press release.
With the football frenzy at its peak, the customized Opera will allow free access to the football.
Opera, which works with most operating systems in regular cell phones to the newest smartphones, features advanced compression technology, ensuring cost savings.
Based in Oslo, Opera Software delivers products and services to more than 120 operators around the world with more than 270 million who use its mobile versions.
“We are thrilled to bring Opera’s world-class technology to our consumers, which will provide a fast and powerful web experience,” said Banglalink Marketing Director Solaiman Alam.
“Bangladesh is a key market for us and we are happy to expand our presence in the country through this partnership, said Sunil Kamath, Vice President for South Asia at Opera Software.
“We know how much Bangladeshis love football and want to help them make the most of this football season. They will now be able to enjoy their favorite sport online, without worrying about internet costs or the mobile device they are using,” he said.
Banglalink subscribers will need to text ‘Opera’ to 9090 to get the Opera Mini download link via an SMS reply. The customized browser can also be downloaded from m.opera.com.
