The Bangladesh woman’s and man’s floor hockey teams were accorded a warm reception for emerging champions and runners-up respectively in the Special Olympic Winter World Games held in Austria recently, said a Bangladesh Olympic Association press release.
The reception ceremony was held on Saturday last at Beautiful Mind School in the city.
In the reception ceremony, national sports awardee Nipa Bose was also accorded a warm reception.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation general Secretary Abdus Sadek was present as the chief guest in the reception ceremony while Dr Shamim Motin Chowdhury, chairman of Bangladesh Special Olympic Bangladesh, presided over the program reception.
In the reception ceremony, the women’s and man’s hockey teams and athlete Nipa Bose were given Taka 6,000 as prize money.
