The Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker and Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Chairperson Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Tuesday returned home from Vietnam wrapping up her six-day visit.
At the invitation of Vietnam National Assembly, Bangladesh Speaker left Dhaka for Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, on July 19, said an official of parliament secretariat.
During her visit, the speaker took part in different bilateral discussions with Vietnam President Tran Dai Quang, Chairperson of Vietnam National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and Secretary General of Vietnam Communist Party Nguen Phu Trong.
“Trade relations, import and export issues, joint investment, jute-made materials issues and tourism between the two countries were dominated in the discussion,” he added.
Parliament members – Imran Ahmed, Pankaj Nath and AM Naimur Rahman, and senior secretary of parliament secretariat Dr M Abdur Rab Hawlader accompanied the speaker during the tour.
