Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Monday expressed profound shock at the death of Nurjahan Begum, editor of the country’s first illustrated women’s weekly ‘Begum’.
In a condolence message, the Speaker recalled her contribution in the field of protecting the rights of women and said Nurjahan Begum was the lighthouse of women.
