Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Monday expressed deep shock at the death of Awami League’s (AL) France unit President and freedom fighter Benzir Ahmed Selim. “The nation will remember with deep gratitude the contribution of this patriotic freedom fighter forever,” she said and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Selim passed away in a Paris hospital on Sunday. In nearly identical messages parliamentary Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah and Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowhdury also expressed profound shock at Selim’s death.
