Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury on Monday left Dhaka for Kenya to participate in the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (Africa Region) Conference, said an official release of the Jatiya Sangsad.
The conference will take place in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.
High officials concerned including senior secretary of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat M Ashraful Makbul, among others, were present at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to see off the Speaker.
Dr Shirin Sharmin, also chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), is expected to return home on August 13.
