Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Sunday stressed the need for expanding ICT-based education to build students as skilled workforce to keep pace with the changing world.
“The present government has been implementing various projects for building knowledge-based society. We are giving highest importance to women empowerment and creating job market for youths,” she told at a function marking the centenary celebration of Shayestaganj High School on its premises at Habiganj district, said a press release.
Terming the present government as ICT-education friendly, the Speaker said the government has adopted epoch making projects in ICT sector to build the country into a middle income one by 2021 and a developed one by 2041.
Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain and M Abu Zahir, MP, Abdul Majid Khan, MP, and Shayestaganj Poura Mayor M Khalek Mia were present, among others, at the function.
Former Secretary Ashok Madhab Rai presided over the programme.
