On the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Homecoming Day on January 10, Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organization (SPARRSO) paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by laying a wreath at the Bangabandhu Corner at SPARRSO with the presence of SPARRSO Chairman Mizanur Rahman (Additional Secretary to the Government) and other officials at all levels.
For remembering the Bangabandhu’s return to the land of newly-independent Bangladesh in 1972 after his release from captivity in Pakistan, SPARRSO showed video documentary on Bangabandu’s biography and hold a discussion meeting.
Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Md. Abdus Salam was the keynote speaker at this the meeting. He discussed extensively on the role of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in shaping and building up the country and nation.
Mizanur Rahman, Chairman of the discussion meeting, commemorated the sacrifices made by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family and 3 million martyrs of the Liberation War on the occasion of Homecoming Day. He called upon all to develop the liberation war and the ideals and consciousness of Bangabandhu from generation to generation by carrying out various programs announced by the government on the occasion of Mujib Year celebrations.
He also called upon all to make concerted efforts to build a developed and prosperous Bangladesh declared by Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, through the implementation of Vision 2041. All Officers / employees of SPARRSO were present at the discussion.
The event was organized in accordance with hygiene and social distance to prevent corona infection. Above all, the discussion meeting ended up with a prayer mahfil seeking the prosperity of the country, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and all members of his family, all freedom fighters and the souls of the martyrs killed in the war of independence.
