It resembled a reunion of the Spanish community in Dhaka, as a 10-day solo exhibition of Spanish artist Esperanza Romero titled Unknown Spirit is being held at Gallery Cosmos-2 in the city’s Mohakhali DOHS area now. The exhibition was inaugurated on February 20.
Nazim Farhan Choudhury, Managing Director of ADCOMM, Amparo Porta, Head of Inditex Chair of Spanish language and culture at the University of Dhaka and eminent artist Shahid Kabir jointly inaugurated the exhibition organised by art patron Nevine Sultana and hosted by Gallery Cosmos.
Tehmina Enayet, Director of Gallery Cosmos, said all the works in the exhibition show the Romero’s creativity, and commended her ‘great spirit and heart.’
Shahid Kabir in his speech said the works are very poetic, and show much feeling. He also commented that the artist works very methodically.
Painters Kalidas Kormokar and Monirul Islam were also present and gave short speeches about the exhibition.
Many expatriates from Spain living in Bangladesh were present at the inauguration.
The exhibition will remain open from 12:00pm to 8:00pm till February 29.
