South Zone declare 1st innings at 365/8 after Kayes hits ton in BCL

Imrul Kayes scored a magnificent ton as Prime Bank South Zone declared their first innings at 365 for 8 in reply to a BCB North Zone’s meager first innings total of 187 on the second day of the sixth and last round of Bangladesh Cricket League held on Wednesday.
The overnight batsman Kayes on 51 went on to composed a 107-run off 165-ball hitting 13 boundaries and two over boundaries after South Zone resumed their first innings on the second day with overnight score at 115 for one at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.
Kayes also was involved an important partnership on way to his hundred. He shared 184-run second-wicket stand with another overnight batsman Anamul Haque who contributed 89-run off 173-ball featuring seven boundaries and two over boundaries.
Tushar Imran and Mohammad Mithun then carried South Zone innings as the duo shared 95-run for the fourth wicket stand. Tushar departed from the crease after scoring 65-run off 131-ball laced with six boundaries one over boundaries before being clean bowled.
Mithun, who was one run short from fifty, was trapped leg before wicket by Ariful Haque’s delivery. He hit five boundaries and one over boundary during his 75-ball stay on the crease.
Farhad Reza was the pick of North Zone bowler as he grabbed five wickets conceding 57 runs. He was well supported by Ariful Haque, Shafiul Islam and Taijul Islam who all shared one wicket apiece.
Trailing by 181 runs in the first innings, BCB North Zone started their second innings in the afternoon and scored 32 for no loss at stumps.
Mijanur Rahman and Junaid Siddique were on the crease with 17 and 14 runs respectively as the stumps were drawn for the day.
