South Asian University, established jointly by SAARC countries and having its present campus in New Delhi announces admission to Masters and PhD programmes for its eighth batch. To make it easier for the aspirants, the university has made the application process simpler. It can literally start with a click and finish off with another as the whole online process is made as user friendly as possible.
The student population in this international university is almost entirely made up of students from the eight member nations of the SAARC, about half of them from India and the other half from the rest of the SAARC countries. The university provides quota of seats for each SAARC country. Established in 2010, the university now offers Masters and PhD programmes in the areas of Applied Mathematics, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Economics, Legal Studies, International Relations and Sociology.
Dr Kavita Sharma, President of the University said, “With SAU gaining more popularity with each passing year, we are expecting more applicants vying for the limited seats in each Masters and Research Programmes. Last year we received some applications from Europe and the Americas and this year we hope to get more applicants applying from other regions of the world.” To further facilitate free flow of information between the university and aspirants, SAU has opened an admission blog dedicated to the aspirants. The blog has, among other things, the detailed information about the programmes, admission procedure, videos and details of Admission Volunteers with whom aspirants can interact and ask queries about the admission process and other things concerning the university. The aspirants can also communicate with the university through the social networking pages.
While the last date for applications at SAU is 25 March, 2017, the SAARC-wide entrance test for both Masters and PhD programmes is scheduled for 9 April, 2017. All the details can be accessed from www.sau.int
