South Asian Regional Director of Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings Mr. Ritin Malhotra called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Thursday at the latter’s office of the university.
ICT Cell Director of Dhaka University Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asif Hossain Khan was present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest especially regarding improvement of the world ranking of Dhaka University.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman apprised Mr. Ritin Malhotra of Dhaka University contribution to socio-economic development of Bangladesh. He said, DU teachers, students and employees played a historical role to achieve our independence in 1971.
Besides, DU also had immense contribution to historic Language Movement in 1952 and other different democratic movements of Bangladesh, DU VC added.
Mr. Ritin Malhotra assured DU VC of providing all sorts of cooperation to improve the DU world ranking. In this regard Times Higher Education will take necessary measures and update information and data of Dhaka University, he added.
