Bangladesh for the first time is set to hold a three-day Chiefs of Police Conference of South Asia and Neighbouring Countries on March 12-14 in the city.
The theme of the conference is: “Regional Cooperation in Curving Violent Extremism and Transnational Crime”, according to a release issued here on Wednesday.
A total of 58 officers from police, law enforcement agencies, Interpol and international organizations along with 14 countries from South Asia would join the conference.
Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque has undertaken all measures to make the conference successful.
The conference would help the government combat all sorts of crimes including violent extremism and transnational crimes.
The Bangladesh Police chief would brief newsmen on the conference as well as all perspectives behind the Chiefs of Police Conference tomorrow (Thursday), the release added.
