bdnews24.com: After two successful back-to-back series wins against Pakistan and India, Bangladesh have lost two T20 matches to South Africa in quick succession. On Tuesday, they lost the second match at Mirpur by 31 runs. Bangladesh began with a flourish but after openers Tamim Iqbal (13) and Saumya Sarkar ( 37) departed, they never really looked in the hunt. Most Bangladesh batsmen fell to spinners Eddie Leie and Aaron Phangiso, holing out in the deep, trying to heave them out of the ground. The most tame dismissal was Mushfiqur Rahim’s, just when the wicket-keeper batsmen was looking to fire. After a quick 19 off 16 balls, Rahim misjudged a full toss from Leie and hit him straight to Rilee Rossouw at short cover for an easy catch. Shakib Al Hassan (8) and Nasir Hossain (0) went back identically, caught right on the ropes while trying to clear it. Sabbir Rahman (1) swept Leie against the turn and was caught at deep midwicket off give the debutant leg spinner his third wicket on debut. Skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza’s quickfire 17 off 8 balls was too late, too little. The asking rate was up to an impossible 14 per over when Mortaza hit two back-to-back sixes off left arm spinner Phangiso. But soon after, he tried an impossible shot off a Kyle Abbott yorker to be bowled all hands down.
