Under-19 cricket: South Africa beat Bangladesh by two runs

Touring South African Under-19 team bounced back in the seven-match Youth ODI series, beating Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team by two runs in the 3rd match at the Sheikh International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on Monday.
The Proteas team batted first after winning the toss and scored 229 runs for 8 in quota 50 overs with two down batsman Abdu Galiem contributing 81-ball 51 runs featuring three fours to be adjudged man of the match.
Besides, opener Kyle Verreynne (40), opener Rivaldo Moonsamy (36), Dean Foxcraft (not out 31 and Peter Willem (22) were the other notable scorer for the tourists.
Saleh Ahmed Shawon continued his superb bowling in the series grabbing three wickets for 41 runs.
In reply, hosts Under-9 team folded their innings at 227 for 7 in stipulated 50 overs with opener Saif Hasan making the match-highest 70 runs off 112 deliveries.
Besides, Mohammad Saifuddin (36), Mosaddek Hossain 35), Zakir Hossain (30) and spinner Nazmul Hossain (24) were the other major scorers for home side.
Ziyaad Ibraham took three wickets for 31 runs.
