BSS, Savar :
Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said “Sound bombs exploded in London would not provoke any agitation in Bangladesh.”
The minister was referring to oft-repeated statements made by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) vice-chairman Tareq Zia, who is in self-exile in London.
Quader was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed bridge at Nalam built at a cost of seven crore taka. The minister further said, “There is no issue for a movement now. So people will not respond to any call for movement. If BNP tries to make an issue out of a non-issue, that will turn futile.”
Because of repeated calls for issue-less movement BNP is getting marginalized.
“Movement cannot be generated by announcing schedule. Khaleda Zia discovers it now. But she should have understand it earlier, “he said. If there is no objective reality for a movement it will never occur, he added.
Local legislator Dr Enamur Rahman and concerned officials of Roads and highways were present on the occasion.
