Entertainment Report :On the occasion of observing the 37th death anniversary of Kazi Sabyasachi, a pioneer of Bengali literature, a proverbial elocutionist and the eldest son of Rebel Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, an award titled Kazi Sabyasachi Memorial Award is going to be introduced after the name of Kazi Sabyasachi. However, the award will be bestowed to two persons, each from Bangladesh and India, every year. Veteran Indian film and stage actor-poet Soumitra Chatterjee and noted elocutionist Kazi Arif from Bangladesh will receive ‘Kazi Sabyasachi Memorial Award 2016’ for the first time. The awards will be handed over to the recipients at a programme at the National Museum auditorium on March 2 to mark the death anniversary of Kazi Sabyasachi. Khilkhil Kazi, daughter of Kazi Sabyasachi, said about introducing the award, “Since long time, we have been planning that we will take a few initiatives in memory of my father.”
