Food items have been distributed among 478 disadvantaged families in different villages of Osmaninagar and Balaganj upazilas of Sylhet under the initiative of SOS Shishu Palli Sylhet. SOS Children’s Village International in Bangladesh’s “Support COVID – 19 Response in Bangladesh (Phase 2)” program under the first phase of the 12-month program held last Sunday and Tuesday in Osmaninagar Upazila.
Osmaninagar Upazila Social Service Officer Jayati Dutta was present as the chief guest. Director of SOS Shishu Palli Sylhet Mohammad Yusuf Ali presided over the function while Chairman of Dayamir Union Parishad STM Fakir Uddin was present.
Balaganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rozina Akter was present as the chief guest at the food distribution function held at Ujialpur Government Primary School in Boaljur area. Chairman of Boaljur Union Parishad Anhar Mia was present on the occasion. The program was conducted by Tanvir Ahmed.
Among the food items distributed by S & S Shishu Palli Sylhet under the Family Strengthening Program of the two upazilas by maintaining proper hygiene and safe distance was 1 per family. Rice – 20 kg, 2). Soybean oil 02 lbs., 3). Salt – 02 kg, 4). Lentils – 02 kg, 5). Potatoes – 05 kg, 6). Onion – 01 kg, 6). 200 g of powdered milk – 01 packet, 6). Sugar – 01 kg, 9) Muri – 2 kg, 10). Energy biscuits – 20 packets, 11). Eggs – 30
Meanwhile, SOS Shishu Palli has been working in unison with all the steps taken by the government to prevent the spread of Corona virus and control the infection and following the guidelines of the World Health Organization. Considering the overall situation, SOS Shishu Palli Sylhet has taken special measures for the beneficiaries. It has already been successfully completed and the 2nd phase (October 2021 – September 2022) has started.
