Some officials Jhenaidah Sonali Bank, Principal office were assaulted when a group of outsiders led by former CBA leader of the bank Akkas Ali attacked Assistant General Manager (In-Charge) MA Majid.
The attackers beat two senior principal officers and ransacked the office. Getting the news, a police team rushed to the spot and rescued AGM MA Majid and other officials.
The victim officials sent letters to Sonali Bank’s head office, Dhaka, demanding justice.

It is alleged, managers and officers of Sonali Bank
went to Jhenaidah principal office for exchanging New Years greeting with MA Majid. Just then a group of outsiders and the bank’s employees led by Sonali Bank’s former CBA leader Akkas Ali swopped them. The other bank employees involved in this attack were Md Harun-ur-Rashid, Montu Kumar Ghosh, Md Habibur Rahman, Md Rokon Uddin, Md Norshed Ali and Manobendra.
The District Awami League Secretary and Jhenaida-1 MP Abdul High and District Secretary Saidul Karim Mintu in a statement condemned the incident and said that some people were trying to destroy the dignity of the state owned bank.
They also demanded departmental action against those who are guilty for such incident.
