An old father was killed by his son in the village Modartoli under Mollahat Upazila in Bagerhat district on Thursday .
The unfortunate father was one Joychand Gain (60) and the killer son is Bidesh Gain (30).
Locals and police said that in the morning Bidesh Gain was beating his minor daughter Ushmi (8) with a lethal weapon mercilessly. On hearing the cry of Ushmi grand father Joychand rushed to the spot to rescue her. But Bidesh Gain did not take it easily and then he (Bidesh) left his daughter and hit a heavy blow on the head of Joychand with the lethal weapon. Consequently, he (Joychand) sustained grievous injuries on his head and died instantly.
