A man was hacked to death allegedly by his son at Barpur Dakhshin Para of the district town on Thursday night over a trifling matter.
The deceased was identified Nannu Miah, 60.
Aslam Ali, inspector (investigation) of Sadar Police Station, said that Nannu locked into an altercation with his son Tota Miah, 25, around 10:00 pm over taking dinner.
At one stage, Tota hit on his father’s head with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
Tota went into hiding immediate after the incident, added the inspector.
