One Eunus Ali Hawladar (70) was slaughtered in his residence near at Amlakitala bazar area in the village Jewdhara within Nishanbaria Union Parishad under Morrelganj Upazila on Saturday morning following family quarrels, according to a report received here.
Police of Morrelganj PS already arrested Lal Mia (45), son of deceased Eunus Ali Hawladar with the help of the concerned UP Chairman Abdur Rahim Baschu suspecting his involvement in the murder. Late Eunus Ali was an Awami League Word leader of the union.
Hena Begum and Nadira Begum, 2 daughters of the deceased told that their father Eunus Ali had been murdered by the son of their brother Lal Mia and his two brothers-in-law (husbands of their brother’s wife’s sisters).
Thakur Das Mondol, Officer-in-charge of Morrelganj PS told, serious family quarrels had been prevailing among the members of the family for the last few days. As deceased Eunus Ali was not agreed to file a false case he was murdered by his son Lal Mia. It was proved in the primary investigation. Police sent the dead body to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for its autopsy. In this connection a case was registered with the local PS.
