A son-in-law allegedly killed his mother-in-law over a family dispute in Guccha Gram area of Sarafbhata union under Rangunia upazila of the district on Sunday .
The mother-in-law was Aysha Khatun,70, hailed from Guccha Gram area of Sarafbhata union under Rangunia upazila.
Police and hospital sources said the son-in-law Mamunur Rashid, 40, who hailed from Netrokona district seriously, hit on the head of his mother in law Aysha Khatun by an iron stick following an altercation over a family feud today. Locals took the critically injured Aysha Khatun to Rangunia Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared Aysha dead.
Mamunur Rashid fled after the incident, police said.
A murder case is under process with Rangunia thana in this connection.
Rice distributed among fire victims : General Secretary of city unit of BNP , chittagong Dr. Shahdat Hossain distributed rice among the fire victims in Saraipara under Pahartali thana in city yesterday.
Dr. Shahdat Hossain visited the fire affected families in the area yesterday and distributed rice to them through local councilor and elites . He urges them to face the situation with passions.
Among others Pahartali thana BNP convenor and former councilor Shamsul Alam, city Mukhtijudda Dal President Giasuddin Mizan, city Jubo Dal Secretary Mosharraf Hossain Dept, City Jubo Dal Vice President Nur Ahmed , Organizing Secretary Md. Iqbal Hossain were present during distribution of rice, sources said.
