A seminar on “Solar Energy” jointly organized by the Institute of Energy (IE) of Dhaka University (DU) and Bangladesh Solar Energy Society (BSES) in cooperation with the Asia Foundation was held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University on Thursday.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique addressed the seminar as chief guest. President of BSES Prof Muhammad Ibrahim presided over the function while Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology and Director of IE of DU Prof Dr Md. Sekul Islam, Professor of the Department of Petroleum of BUET Dr M Tamim and Chairman of Sustainable Renewable Energy Development Authority Md Abdul Wahab Khan addressed as special guests. Member of Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Dr Selim Mahmud and Editor of Energy & Power Magazine Mollah M Amzad delivered key note speeches on “Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Dispute Settlement Regulation-2014” and “Renewable Energy Policy-2014” respectively.
Director of BPDB Md Shafique Uddin was present on the occasion as special discussant. Secretary of BSES Prof Dr Saiful Haque delivered welcome address and Lecturer of IE Dr S M Nasif Shams gave vote of thanks.
