Dhaka University (DU) vice chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique on Sunday emphasised the promotion of solar energy through a combined effort of industry and research bodies.
Addressing the certificate presentation ceremony of a training course titled “Solar Energy and Application”, he also noted that the country could easily meet its energy needs by means of solar energy – if proper steps are taken to utilise the sunny conditions that prevail for a longer period annually, reports UNB.
Bangla Dept students stage demons
Students of the Bangla Department of Dhaka University formed a human chain on the campus on Thursday in protest against alleged move of the Education Ministry to include the Linguistics students in the BCS education cadre along with them.
The human chain was formed on the foot of Aparajeya Bangla about 10:30 am.
Earlier, the Bangla Department students brought out a procession from in front of the Arts Faculty which ended at the starting point after parading the major points on the campus.
