Bangladesh Skill Development Institute (BSDI) organized a daylong ‘Soft Skill Fest’ at Daffodil International University (DIU). Musharrof Hossain, Founder President of Federation of Bangladesh Human Resource Organization was inaugurated the fest as chief guest today on 15 September 2018 at 71 Milonayoton of the University. Presided over by Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Group CEO of Daffodil Family, the inaugural program was also addressed by KM Hasan Ripon, Advisor of BSDI and Moinuddin Choudhury, CEO of Society for Leadership Skill Development (SLSD).
The daylong program was designed with various sessions like Leadership and Management, Sells and Customer Service, Productivity, Human Resource Development, Communication Skill etc. Sabbir Hasan Nasir, Executive Director of Shawpno, Ejazur Rahman, Managing Director of Mind Mapper Bangladesh, Jishu Tarafder, Managing Director of Soft Skill BD Ltd, Qazi M Ahmed, CEO of Future Leaders Ltd, GM Kamrul Hasan, CEO of IGLOO, Syed Ishtique Reza, Editor in Chief, Gtv, HasanZabed Choudhury, CEO of Lanka Bangla Investment Ltd, Ghulam Samdany Don, CEO of Don Samdany Facilitation and Consultancy, Taher Ahmed Choudhury, DMD of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd, Humaira Sharmeen, Trainer of Campus to Corporate, Syed Mizanur Rahman, Associate Professor, DIU, Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed, GM of KAFCO, Ms. Ayesha JahanBibha, Trainer, Speed of Mind, Ms. Rushdina Khan, Trainer Training with Rushdina, Munir Hasan Khan, CEO of Impra Consulting International, USA, Ashraf Kaiser, Managing Director of Benchmark Ltd conducted those session.
Addressing as chief guest Musharrof Hossain said that 110 million Bangladeshi people working in foreign countries send almost 16 billion dollar remittance in Bangladesh every year. On the other hand only 5 million foreign people are taking away 8 billion dollar from Bangladesh. It happens due to lack of soft skills among Bangladeshi people.
He said that Bangladeshi people don’t get proper remuneration in foreign countries due to lack of soft skills. For the same reason many Bangladeshi organizations have to recruit foreign employee.
For overcome this situation our education system should change from primary level to university level and we should include soft skill in every level of education. He said.
Mohammad Nuruzzaman said in his presidential speech that people of developed countries are spending minimum 5pc of their salary for developing soft skill purpose. But this culture is not established in Bangladesh. If we want to build a skilled human resource based country we have to give emphasis on soft skill.
