UNB, Khagrachhari :
A social worker was shot to death by miscreants at Perachhara in Sadar upazila on Monday afternoon.
Police recovered the bullet-hit body of Surya Bikash Chakma from the courtyard of one Nipu Dewan around 5pm and sent it to local hospital morgue for autopsy. Peyas Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said the motive behind the killing could not be known immediately.
Saupru Marma, chairman of Kamalchhari union parishad, said Surya was the chairman candidate from the union. He used to live in Pankhaiapara Sluicegate area in the district town.
